Today is National Purple Heart day, a day designated to honor those who have shed their blood to protect our nation and keep it free.
This is a hard article to write, because while today we do honor those who have shed their blood for us, we don’t feel that they should be remembered only one day per year – they should be remembered EVERY day, EVERY hour, EVERY minute.
Most of our heroes do not consider themselves to be heroes. If you ask them, they will say they aren’t heroes – but they will tell you about the heroes they walked among. They will tell you their stories – some may not be polite, some may be downright rough – but this is how they honor their brothers and sisters – and we have the obligation to hear them, learn them, and honor them.
Thank you to all of our heroes. To us, every day is your day.
